My husband and I have been in the market for a new vaccuum for quite a while now. We bought a rinky-dink Dirt Devil for $20 when we moved into our first apartment together and for 700sf, it did the trick. Two kids, two cats and about 300sf more, we definitely needed a vacuum that would be reasonably priced but work a little bit harder. We definitely hummed and hawed over this vacuum after looking at similar brands and models at the same price point. We decided to try it out since it couldn't possibly be worse than the one we had and needless to say I'm already very pleased with it. I tried it out on a little strip of carpeting and the amount of dirt it picked up was amazing. I probably wouldn't suggest this vacuum for a house but it definitely fits the bill for an apartment. Its a little noisier than our other vacuum (its got 2 amps more) but I wouldn't expect it to be much quieter at its price point. All in all, a great deal for anyone looking for a resonably priced vacuum. -- A nice upgrade for an apartment dweller
