User Reviews about Electrolux Eureka Sanitaire SC3683A Commercial Canister Vac
This is the third Mighty Mite vacuum I have bought.I wore the first one out and went out and bought another right away.I purchased the Electrolux Eureka for my daughter-in-law recently.I told her she would grab this one first every time. She said that I am right.
I use this to get in places that up-rights don't do well at like stairs, cars, curtains, ceilings, under beds, even on beds(cat hair),kitchen and bathroom floors(who needs a broom?) and even lampshades. Every home needs 2 vacuum cleaners. The up-rights are great for rugs but they just can't handle many of the chores that this little power house can.I used my daughter-in-laws the other day and now I want one just like it.It has more suction and is better designed than my old one.
It makes me crazy that I paid more for mine than I did for hers and hers is even better.
One of the complaints from other reviewers is that the cord isn't retractable. Here is an easy fix.Home Depot has something called "cable cuffs" that work just fine to contain the cord and clamp it to the handle. It is bright orange and comes in various sizes.I got one that is big enough to fit around the handle to secure the wrapped cord.I like this simple solution better than making it retractable because it would increase the price and the weight.Simple is better.
I am really impressed with this vacuums power and suction. For the money,it is one of the best bargains in vacuum cleaners you can get today. Its Hepa filter system makes it a better buy. I would match this vacuum to my sister's Kirby any day.
I would recommend that you might want to visit your local vacuum shop to get a few extra tools to make cleaning more efficient.I purchased another brush to vacuum kitchen drawers with.I don't want to use the one that has been on the floor for this.I also bought an attachment to clean the computer with.It works well in tight spaces like in the car around the dash board and air ducts. -- A sucking fool
My wife has a small cleaning business and just loves this vac. It's been used and abused for a year now and had to replace one of the back wheels which was easily replaced locally and cheap. Wheel broke from abuse not mfg. Takes a lick'n and keeps a suck'n! -- Electrolux Eureka Vac.
I bought this over a year ago. I wanted a vac that could handle the shedding of my golden retriever without affecting my allergies. I owned a bag less vac. before and it worked well but the dust would fly all over. with this vacuum i don't have this problem. the suction is great it picks up my dogs hair and anything else with no problem. I have ceramic tile floors and it doesn't scratch the floor or anything. i don't recommend it for rugs or carpet. it didn't do such a great job with some floor mats that i had. i also use it on my sofas and it does a great job there too. it has good attachments. it's easy to store and it's light weight. It is loud but it's a vacuum and i don't expect it to be quiet and like i said before the suction is great. overall i do recommend this vacuum and the price is great too. -- great vacuum
I bought this vacuum based upon prior experience with a Eureka cannister vac. Very inexpensive but lasted a long time and worked great! This one promises to have the same advantages as the one I had. Powerful suction, relatively light weight. I'd ask for a better way of storing the attachments and a retractable power cord. However if those are my only complaints during the time I own this machine, I'll feel lucky! -- Nice vaccum
This little vacuum is light and relatively easy to move around on wood floors, but with some entanglement over the electrical cord. It is not as noisy as some people say, but does seem to get warm. It has good suction and paired with a miele floor brush(adapted to fit) does a good job of picking up Border Collie hair on our wood floors. The one major drawback is the fact that the heavier Metal pipe does not have a snap-in mechanism to hold it into the Plastic suction hose. It is press in only and way too often works its way out and drops noisily onto the Wood floors. It hits hard enough to make me look for dents! I wish there was a way to remedy this problem. Another nuisance is the suction adjust slider is right at my fingertips and often is unintentionally slid open and then pinches my fingers when I slide it back. I'm not gushing over this like most people. If the hose and pipe snapped together, I would be. -- wood floors in danger?
