User Reviews about Hoover LINX Cordless Stick Vacuum
I bought this vacuum after reading many reviews. I knew to expect a 15-20 minute battery life. I wanted something to clean our hard floors and to touch up the carpet. I LOVE IT!! It is so convenient. I have never owned a cordless vacuum, so I have nothing to compare it to, except a broom and dustpan. It is so much more convenient than a broom, or a little vacuum with a cord. I have a baby and 2 dogs... constant messes. I whip this thing out and have the mess cleaned up in 2 minutes. The vacuum gets dog hair, crumbs, and dust. My corded all-use vacuum is needing to be replaced. I used it then followed up with this vacuum on carpet in the bedroom. This vacuum picked up so much dog hair and dust that my big vacuum left behind. So this vacuum does have some power, I'm just assuming that for carpet, I will require a heavy-duty, corded vacuum to remove all the dog hair and dander. That being said, Hoover has made a WONDERFUL product for everyday cleaning!! Highly recommend!! -- Handy little helper
I have never given a product review, but I'm feeling guilty about not at least getting a few thoughts out about how I feel about this vac. I like others have owned about every cordless vac on the market. There is absolutely NO COMPARISON with what the others will pick up and what this little Hoover will do. It works BETTER than any cordless vac I have every used and better than any corded vac I have used (I have even had the a spendy Dyson model). I have a built in vac system in my home. I stopped using it in favor of the Hoover cordless vac because of the ease of use and the fact that it picks up every hair/dust particle on my floors....tile and carpeted areas. I also own apartment rentals that I have purchased these vacuums for. I think at last count I have purchased nine, yes 9 of them! I have lost track of how friends and family have purchased them because of my testimonial to them. OK...this is it for my very first product review! JUST BUY ONE (or several...LOL) YOU WON'T BE SORRY!! -- Just Buy It!
I hate to vacuum. REALLY hate it. I'd step on the cord and hurt my foot. The cord would get caught in my sandals. I would yank the cord from the wall. When I broke the canister (I yanked the hose out of the hole), I started researching stick vacs. My prime concern was dust and kitty litter. All vacuums seems to suck up the litter then spit it back out at my legs. This one sucks it up and keeps it! No more litter! (I would sweep but never could get it all up)
Our floors are tile and Pergo with area rugs in the dining room and living room and runners in the hallways. This vac works great on them. I agree with the other person about the battery, but I learned that when I'm finished, just take it out and stick it in the charger. Then it's always ready to go. The other drawback is no attachments like an edging tool but I plan on getting the
matching part that has a shoulder strap.
If you're looking for something really lightweight to get up dust and litter, this is the one to get. While in the store, I actually went to the pet dept and got a container of litter. I sprinked it on the store floor and used their vac. It sucked that stuff right up and I was sold! (Yes, I bought the container of litter) This was at a WalMart - Target wouldn't even let me get their sample from the shelf - it was attached to the backboard with one of those plastic ties. -- Excellent for cat litter
I think I've probably owned every cordless vac ever made - and I agree that the Eureka cordless the Boss is next in line(Eureka the Boss is also known more recently as the QuickUp, (at least they're VERY similar models - I owned both) But NOTHING comes close to this, the HOOVER LINX CORDLESS STICK VAC! This not only pics up everything - even up close to the edge of the wall - it is awesome that you can turn the rotating beater bar off for bare floors. The best feature, though, is how you empty the cup which collects all the dust & garbage from the floor: You simply push the lever, and it all falls out in the wastebasket. No picking stuff off of a dusty filter - a job I never liked. Even when you have to clean the baffle inside (the inside cylinder)because hair or thread has wrapped around it, you simply remove the baffle, and the debris falls off with very little effort. But wait! That's not all! This vac doesn't lose power as the battery is losing steam: the indicator lite alerts you as it's happening - but you still have full power right to the end. I do want to buy an additional battery. 15 minutes isn't quite enough for a whole house. Buying the Hoover Linx cordless handvac would give you that extra battery...have to save up for it though! -- Best Cordless Vacuum EVER!!
