User Reviews about iRobot 560 Roomba Vacuuming Robot - Black and Silver
I had Roomba 560 for a month now and I'm really pleased. I have a small apartment with no staircase so I just program the days of the week I want Roomba to clean and leave it, when I come home in the afternoon the whole apartment floor is clean. I empty the can every 2 o 3 days when the floor has been cleaned routinely. If you have a very dirty floor you'll have to do more often. I just happen to find roomba out of its base a few times when it closed the door and got trapped in a room. I have a short hair so roomba brushes don't have a problem with me and I don't have to clean them. But every time there's a girl with long hair in here for a few days the hairs gets stuck in the brushes and the wheels and I have to clean them. It's the same problem everything with small wheels has in a house. So if you or your pet's hair is long maybe the pet edition can be better for you, but I haven't tried that one.
Overall excellent product. -- Don't ever clean again
That being said, there are some things to consider before you buy. I have 3 kids, a dog and a cat so it is worth it to me to have to clean the brushes after every use and empty the container because i would have to haul out my vacuum every day to keep it as clean as the roomba. But some may find this tedious to think it is just as quick and bringing out the vacuum and doing a quick sweep with the vacuum. The other thing is, this is my second roomba and both of them have a certain place they get stuck at. Sometimes it is that they don't want to go over a certain rug, or they don't like the heating vent, or they may just have a certain spot they keep backing up on the wall for whatever reason and it will stop there. So I can't set the roomba for the timer and have it go each day and then dock. It always stops mid cycle. I just pick it up and move and usually have mine running while I am cleaning the kitchen or making dinner then move it when I hear it has stopped. The other draw back is the battery gets shorter and shorter and lasts about 6 to 7 months, at least on my last roomba it did, I just got this one. To replace the battery can cost 60-70 dollars or more, plus you have to buy new filters, so maintanance on the roomba can be costly. You wouldn't have these costs with a manual vacuum. So, all that being said, I still love having mine cause my floors would always look dirty since i was too lazy to bring up the vacuum from downstairs every day. -- I love having a roomba!!!
Absolutely love this item. I have it programmed to vacuum 3 times a week. It does an excellent job. My carpet is looking brighter, because it is cleaner. -- Above & Beyond my Expectations
I bought this for my wifes birthday about a month ago. I am currently deployed and was trying to find something that would help her out while I am away. She loves it! She sets it and leaves to do her running around with the kids activities and when she returns it's done. We have hardwood floors and it works great and also does the throw rugs. A good product. -- Wife loves it!
I used this roomba for a month and it worked great until I bought a lighthouse and tried and realized that the roomba isn't turning the lighthouse on. After researching for a long time on the irobot forums I found that the SKU 561 that this roomba says at the bottom doesn't support light house. This information is not specified anywhere and was very difficult for me to find. More information can be found at [...]. -- This model doesn't support lighthouse
